Staff Accountant

Under the direction of more senior professional staff, the Staff Accountant will work alone and on engagement teams to perform audits of governmental entities, school districts, unions, nonprofit and for profit organizations as well as prepare basic tax return preparation services for clients. The position will involve periodic travel to client offices.  Exceptional opportunity for new grads!

Job Requirements:

  • BBA with 150 credits or MSA (Accounting)
  • CPA or CPA eligible with a commitment to becoming certified (financial assistance provided)
  • Current, valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • Access to a reliable vehicle; good driving record; sufficient auto insurance coverage

Audit Manager

*Governmental audit management experience required for this position*

Managers at RPB are essentially partners-in-training, and are involved in almost all of the areas for which partners are responsible.  They exhibit technical proficiency and the ability to supervise and complete engagements, possess a thorough knowledge of the firm’s policies and procedures, and serve as intermediaries between partners, clients, and senior accountants.  They plan the timing and assigning of staff to engagements, review engagement workpapers, resolve any problems, and keep the partners informed of all important developments in the engagement.  Managers prepare client billings, evaluate staff performance and develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm.

Managers must be CPAs and normally have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior accountant (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the partners.

2017 Summer Internship

Reilly, Penner & Benton, LLP endeavors to make the Intern’s experience identical to new staff accountants. The summer accounting interns will work primarily on either School District Audits or School Choice Audits. Accounting Interns are given less complex audit, accounting and tax assignments. As they gain experience, they are given more difficult assignments and greater responsibilities.

Accounting interns must have completed their junior year in degree-granting accounting program. Completion of Audit course preferred.

This is a full-time internship, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
